DOROTHY PHYLLIS SEATER

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dorothy Phyllis Seater (nee Skinner) of Osoyoos, BC, on June 14, 2025 at the age of 86 years.

Dorothy was born in Brandon, Manitoba to Herbert and Jean Skinner (Gilmour) on May, 9 1939.

Dorothy will be fondly remembered and missed by her daughter Carla Elliott (Chuck), children Hewson (Kaylee), and Lyndon, son Cameron Adams (Laura), children Jonathan and Brennan. Daughter-in-law, Lynn Seater, children Adam, Cali (Tyler) Carins, Jenna (Jeff) Anderson, and Erin (Alex) Grab. Great-grandchildren; Warren, Sawyer, Hayley and Elias. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and companion, Vinko Sidic.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Edmund Seater, parents Herbert and Jean Skinner, son Christopher Seater, brother Leslie Skinner, sister Norma Wiltsey, and sister-in-law Jean Skinner.

Dorothy's schooling was in Oak River, Mb. Always the adventurous free spirit she left high school and went to Cosmetology school in Brandon. She worked in Brandon, Banff and then aspirations took her to Bermuda. She married Leslie Adams on Feb 12, 1960 and raised 3 children in Bermuda until 1971 when the family moved to Vancouver Island. In 1974 she moved back home to Oak River and on July 2nd of 1977, married Edmund Seater of Rivers, Mb.

She loved the farm life working endless hours driving equipment, chasing Charolais cattle, hosting horse events, or whipping up a tasty meal for 2 to 20 people at any given time. She had a love for feeding and entertaining visitors which was evident by how many she had. She loved chatting and meeting people which is why she was so successful in her many businesses that she was a part of.

Many southern Manitoba ladies will remember the Beauty Counselor parties or the 'Balancemobile' motor home filled with Balance Clothing or later Family Doctor II. After Edmund passed in 2017 she spent her later years going between Kenton, Mb, Gallagher Lake and Ososyoos, BC with her companion Vinko Sidic.

Her friendly personality was infectious for the people around her with seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm for whatever was her latest passion. She loved expressing her opinions on current events and it didn't matter if you agreed. She will be remembered for having her faith, a real zest for life, which also equaled a life well lived.

A private graveside interment for Dorothy will be held at Ancrum Cemetery at a later date. Tributes and condolences may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com
