COLLEEN MICHAELA HAUGEN
It is with sadness, but also with deep love, reverence, and quiet joy, that we announce Colleen has gone to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Colleen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She moved to Thompson at a young age to live with her big sister.
She went on to build a career with Manitoba Telephone System, where she met the love of her life, Ken Haugen. Together, they moved to Brandon in 1989, where Colleen later retired.
Colleen was a proud advocate for the Canadian Diabetes Association and an active member of her union. A devoted follower of Christ, she was deeply involved in her church community and lived her faith through care and kindness toward others.
She will be remembered for her compassion, her gift for conversation, her willingness to listen when others needed to talk, her sense of humor, and her love of sharing meaningful time with family and friends.
Colleen leaves behind her loving husband, Ken; her son, Jason (Jennifer); her grandchildren; her extended family; her church community; and many dear friends.
The family would like to thank the A3 Angels in the Palliative Care Ward at the Assiniboine Centre—all the healthcare aides, undergraduate nurses, and nurses who took such amazing care of Colleen. Through their gentleness and compassion, they are truly doing God's work.
A Celebration of Colleen's life will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at The Redeemer Lutheran/St George's Church - 114 Ashgrove Blvd, Brandon MB.
