MURRAY E. WHITE

April 23, 1935 - March 5, 2026

It is with great sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Murray Edward White at home on March 5, 2026. Murray was 90 years old.

Murray was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth (Elsie) White the mother of his children, his parents and his brothers Clifford and Lloyd.

Murray is survived by his loving wife Maryann, his son Brent (Gayle) White, two granddaughters Madison White and Courtney (Tyler) Boyechko, two great-grandsons Casey and Macklin Boyechko of Brandon and daughter Lynn (Ryan) Little of Clear Lake. Murray is also survived by his sister Eleanor Madden, brothers Perry (Gerree) White and Ken (Pam) White as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dad was born on April 23, 1935 in Kemnay, Manitoba, one of six children born to Jack and Emma White. He went to school in Brandon. Not long after, he met and married Elsie Radwanski making Brandon their home. Murray worked with Plains Western Gas before beginning a long career with the Brandon Fire Department, retiring as Captain.

Murray enjoyed many extracurricular activities. In the summer he could be found golfing, tending to his immaculate lawn and paying particular attention to his tomatoes that we all benefited from. During the colder months, Murray curled and spent many hours ice fishing and hunting deer, elk, moose, ducks and geese.

Not long after retiring, Dad moved to Shebandowan, Ontario and married Maryann. They lived on the lake and enjoyed all aspects of lake life, cruising the lake on their pontoon boat. Dad and Maryann spent the years wintering in Texas where he could be found on the golf course or playing cards at the community centre. Fortunately for us, after a number of years in Ontario, they moved back to Brandon to be closer to family.

Murray seldom missed coffee with the fellas where he would learn all the latest goings on in the city. In recent years, he could be found in his recliner cheering on his favourite team the Toronto Blue Jays and armchair curling.

Murray and Maryann have been blessed with wonderful neighbors who have become lifelong friends.

Our family would like to thank emergency services for their quick response and the wonderful team at Brandon General Hospital.

Special thanks to Rene Page and Roz Evason for their compassionate assistance.

In accordance with Murray’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brandon Human Society or a charity of choice.

Till we meet again.
