A gentle soul slipped peacefully away on April 12, 2026 at the age of 90.
Keith was dealing with a Parkinson's-like disease (MSA-P), and spent his last few months in the Personal Care Home in Souris, Manitoba. Originally from Prince Albert, SK, Keith moved to Snow Lake, MB with his family. He married Ariel Lambert and they lived in Swan River for a few years before moving to Thompson in the mid 1960s.
Keith worked for INCO as a machinist for 35 years. He was very active in the Thompson Kinsmen Club, starting up and coaching the Termite Hockey program for 25 years. (He was well respected for this volunteer work.) Photography was Keith's much-loved hobby and he was a member of the Studio 55 art group for many years. He also enjoyed camping throughout western Canada and the US and was an avid five pin bowler from the 1960s right up until recently.
Keith was widowed early and raised his three children, Gary, Shelley and Jason, before meeting his wife Jill Pearce.
Following retirement, Keith and Jill moved to Brandon, Manitoba in 2000 where they made friends wherever they went.
Keith was a member of Seniors for Seniors (board member for three years), the Brandon Camera Club, Toastmasters, Club 55 bowling league, and together the couple were involved in Alzheimer's Society activities like Minds in Motion.
Keith is predeceased by his parents, a brother Murray, his wife Ariel, and an infant daughter Gail.
He is survived by his brother Ross Kennedy and sister Judy Wahl, both of Winnipeg, his son Gary in Thompson, daughter Shelley McDonnell (and Murray) of Dauphin, son Jason (and Jackie Keir) of Brandon, step-children, Kelly and Georgia Pearce of Brandon. He also leaves six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four nephews and a niece.
A private family burial will be held in July. A Time for Remembering will be held on July 12, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Recreation Centre in Monterey Estates, 40 Mockingbird Drive, Brandon.
Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba are kindly appreciated.
