ALEXINA DHAENE (BRODEUR) May 25, 1922 to September 12, 2005 Peacefully on September 12, 2005 Alexina Dhaene beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, MB (her new home since July 6) at the age of 83. Mom was predeceased by her son Raymond D., her brothers and sisters and other family members. She is survived by her son Marcel (Eileen), grandchildren, Chuck and Ashley; daughter-in-law Lorraine Dhaene, grandchildren, Jeff Dhaene, Roxanne (Dave), Patrick (Crystal), plus newborn great-grandchild Sydney Raymond D'haene born March 4, 2005. Also mourning her loss are her many friends, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Mom enjoyed her work at the West Inn Downtown until she broke her arm and retired to La Broquerie. From there her time was spent with many friends and family. Those were good times. Only on that day when she had her stroke did her peaceful little homestead come to an end. She spent some time in Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, then moved to St. Adolphe. These days were difficult for her. She then moved to Ste. Anne on July 6, which was just one more stepping stone to joining her loved ones. Now she felt content, happy to see her friends and ready for the next step. She will be sadly missed by all here, but her famous words were, Take one day at a time. Bye Mom. The funeral will be held Saturday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roman Catholic Church in La Broquerie. Interment at the church cemetery.
