KATHLEEN PUTTAERT With sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear mother Kaye, on October 19, 2005, at the age of 90 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Gloria and her sons, Ron (Nancy) and Bill; grandchildren, Emma and Steven; sister Margaret; and extended family and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Raymond; parents, Margaret and Alfred Peatman; and sisters, Adelaide and Pat. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed family gatherings, visiting relatives and looking after her grandchildren. Her sense of humour will always be remembered. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Kaye attended Earl Grey Elementary / Junior High School and Kelvin High School where she excelled in sports. She took pride in her years of work at Eaton's, where she served as a comptometer operator. Mom indulged her adventurous spirit through travels across Canada and abroad to Belgium, England, Australia and New Zealand. She exercised her active mind through a love of reading, playing bridge, and doing crossword puzzles. Her creativity was expressed through many hobbies, including gardening, ceramics, cooking, baking, knitting and crochet. In her later years, Kaye was an enthusiastic participant at the Charleswood Adult Day Club, and also enjoyed activities at the Robert A. Steen Day Hospital Program. She valued the many friends she met there over the years. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and health care workers who provided Kaye with care and support. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kaye's memory may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2 or the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 302 - 171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
