LUCIA DA CONCEICAO FARIA POLLAK (nee SILVA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lucy. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 31, 2005. She is survived by her husband Paul and two sons, Ryan and Christopher; parents, Manuel and Rosa Silva; brother Manuel (Arlene); sister Evelina Silva. She also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, in-laws, nephews and nieces. Lucy was born on June 19, 1969 in the Azores on the island of Sao Miguel and with her family immigrated to Canada in 1971. She graduated from Maples Collegiate in 1987. After working in the secretarial field she left her career to become a full-time mom to her two beautiful boys. Special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, especially the members of the Oncology Lab. for their care and compassion. As well as the many friends and relatives who have offered their prayers and support. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., V.F. presiding. Entombment to follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucy's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9. DESCANSE EM PAZ CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
