Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ROSE ELLIS POTHIER Born in Macgregor, MB, August 14, 1929; died October 29, 2005, Surrey, BC, aged 76 years after a long battle with the effects of breast cancer. Our beloved Mother leaves to mourn Victor, her husband of many years; her dear best friend Lassie; her sons, Paul, Michel, Mark and John, her daughters-in-law, Margaret, Heather, Benita and John's dear partner Sharon; grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Daniel and Jessica, Denise and Steve, Ian and Christie, Benjamin, Peter and Heather, Kailey, Kelsey, Marissa and Kecia; and great-grandchildren, Danyka, Stephanie and Ava. She was predeceased by her close, dear friend George Brandie for whom she cared lovingly during the last years of his life. George and Mom shared many wonderful travelling experiences as well as a home and hearth. Mom was born to a family of eight children to an English father Richard and a Scottish mother Catherine, both emigrated from Britain as farm workers to Manitoba in the early part of the 20th century. She grew up in Portage La Prairie and Winnipeg and moved to British Columbia in 1975. Survived by her sister Carol Grant of Calgary; her brother Jim Ellis; and her sister-in-law Helen of Winnipeg; and many dear nieces and nephews in Alberta and Manitoba. Predeceased by her brothers, Pat, Jack and George; and her sisters, Kay and Janet. Mom was an energetic and inspiring person to us all. Her strength throughout this ordeal has left us humbled. Through some of her most difficult times she maintained an aura of stability and remained a pillar of our family. She never let us down. Her love of travel, which she did extensively, was exceeded only by her love of family and tradition. She will be dearly missed by all. A warm thank you to the staff of Surrey Memorial Hospital, all of whom made our Mother's final days as comfortable as possible under trying circumstances. We would also like to thank Father Dion for attending at our Mother's request. In lieu of any cards or flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
