Date of Passing: Nov 06, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTORIA ANN (VICKI) BROUGHTON (nee ANDERSON) Our beautiful mother, sister, auntie and friend left us on November 6, 2005. Vicki fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and championed the cause to fight this disease at every opportunity. She was strong willed and positive until the end and was an absolute inspiration to all. Vicki was born in Dryden, ON on February 20, 1950, and was predeceased by parents Val (Trewin) and Vic Anderson. Vicki leaves to miss her and keep her in their hearts forever, daughters, Brodie Anderson (Brock) of Brandon, Jena Broughton (Bert Banville) of St. Malo, and sisters, Bette Anderson of Victoria, BC, Suzan Ramsey (Don) of Rivers. Vicki was especially close to her nieces and nephews, as well as a huge number of close friends. She will be remembered by many as the nursery school teacher in Rivers, in which she established and ran for over 30 years. Vicki also brought joy and laughter to the residents and her co-workers at the Rivers Personal Care Home. Vicki had a strong faith and took great comfort in her church and church family. It was Vicki's remarkable faith, caring heart, friendly smile, and her love for all beings which made Vicki the woman she was and the person we will always love and remember. A private family graveside service took place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Paul Curtis officiating, followed by a Celebration of Vicki's Life held at Remington's in Brandon. For those who wish, donations in memory of Vicki, may be made to St. James Anglican Church in Rivers, River's Nursery School, or Juvenile Diabetes.

I met Vicki in the early ‘70’s, when I was a student at Brandin University and going out with a friend of hers from Rivers. The woman I knew was strong and intelligent, sensitive and kind, and I was happy to have known her and very saddened to come across her obituary. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Cliff Ranger (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2018
