Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALORIE RACH Valorie Jean Rach (nee Menard), 53 years old, born February 26, 1952 in Drumheller, AB, passed from this world December 7, 2005 at the Thompson General Hospital, Thompson, MB. She is survived by her beloved husband Doug; daughters, Shauna (Tom Flett), Darla (Jayme Prochner); son Brayden; and grandchildren; Alyssa, Shawn and Michelle. By her mother Pamela Menard; sister Donna Holenski; brothers, Mark (Kathy) and Steven Menard. By sisters-in-law, JoAnne Menard and Colleen Menard; by great-nephew Hunter and great-niece Keela as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also by her dear dogs, Sassy and Sammy. She was predeceased by her sister Jacquie Lynn, brother Jeffrey and father Donald. By Doug's parents, Grace and Laverne Rach and by all her grandparents. Sadly, she was also recently predeceased by her favourite uncle Allan Menard on Friday, December 2, 2005. Val was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She loved her home and family and spent many happy hours giving of herself to her family and home. She was also a valued employee to Steve Ashton and served faithfully as his Executive Assistant and the NDP Party with her acute organizational skills and gift of persuasion. In 1997, Doug and Val obtained property at Hecla Island, a dream come true for her. She and Doug were building their retirement home and she spent as much time as possible there over the past few summers. Following a brief illness, her earthly work done, Val left us to join those who have gone before her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Advent Lutheran Church, 179 Thompson Dr. North, Thompson. Prayers / viewing to be held on Friday, December 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Boardman/Northland Funeral Home. There will be an ash internment and memorial service following in the spring of 2006 at Hecla Island, MB. Notice will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or the Canadian Liver Foundation. Boardman Funeral Home in care of arrangements phone 778-7982 Thompson.

Dear Doug, Shauna, Darla, Brayden and Pam We are so terribly sorry to hear of your great loss. Valorie was one of my ( our ) favourite people and we loved her and shall miss her too!
