LUISA ROSA SALAZAR VALENZUELA November 1, 1915 - December 10, 2005 It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Luisa Rosa, announce her passing at the age of 90. Luisa was born in San Jose Mapio, Chile, to Angel Valenzuela and Sofia Gonzalez and was the second eldest daughter in a family of seven. We are comforted to know that she will reunite with all those who left before her. She was predeceased by her parents in 1927; husband Armando Salazar (1984); grandson Luis Salazar (2001); son-in-law Mauricio (2004), son-in-law Mario Lorenzzi (2004); and all of her siblings throughout the years, Cristina, Ana, brother Angel, Elsa, Clemencia and Olga. She married Armando in 1938 and had eight children, Luis (Eliana), Maria (Hernan), Uvaldina (Mauro), Olga (Alberto), Clemencia (Raul), Eleanore (Mario), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of Santiago, Chile, Juan (Sonia), daughters, Carola (Leonardo), Catherine (Paulo Sa), Jorge (Pamela) and their children, Paulina, Nelson and Jessica and grandson Diego, all of Winnipeg. Mourning such a loss at a distance is heart-breaking. We are comforted that during her final years while her health was deteriorating she was lovingly cared for by all of her children as a group effort and was always made to ensure she was cared for with compassion and dignity. Abuelita, I will remember your soft hands, your aerobics in the morning, how you cut my orange slices into little boats, learning English with you from Sesame Street and learning the rosary from you. My religious faith has grown and because of that I believe that you are still with me and I promise to smile everyday just for you. I will see you soon in heaven. You are my light and inspiration for life, I love you dearly. I will meet you in my dreams. Descansa en paz Abuelita.
