Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON EDWIN RANDALL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grand-father, and great-grandfather. On Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Gordon peacefully passed away, at the age of 87, at Concordia Hospital. Gordon was born October 13, 1918, in Winnipeg and raised in Redditt, ON. He worked in Redditt for the CNR and transferred his family to Transcona in 1953 where he continued his long career with the railway. He retired in 1983 with CN Rail. Gordon was happiest when he was in a room filled with family and friends. He was always active in a variety of sports. He was a top bowler, played on many baseball teams, and was the lawn dart champion of the family. Gordon and Dorothy have many fond memories of their camping and fishing days in the Whiteshell and Beausejour. Gordon was known for being a perfect gentleman, a gentle soul, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Gordon was predeceased by his mother and father, Annie and Charles Randall; his brothers, Len, Walter, and Ivor. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his children, Raymond (Linda), Audrey (Peter) and Cheryl. Also left are his seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Andrea), Patricia (Garth), Jason (Jennifer), Bryan (Manna), Shirley (Kevin), Heather (Roger) and Holly; great-grandchildren are Tehgan, Samantha, Troy and Avery. Gordon will also be very missed by his two surviving sisters, Louise and Florence. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held Tuesday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Rev. Deacon Paul Martin to lead the celebration. Private interment to follow at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon's seven grandchildren. Gordon's family send deep felt appreciation to Dr. Nicole Mercier and the staff of Concordia Hospital for the wonderfully compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity. Dear Gord, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, You led a wonderful life that was centered around your family and friends. You never complained even though you worked so hard, were always compassionate and had amazing strength. Your kindness, generosity, sense of humour and warm smile will be missed. We have been so blessed to have known you, loved you, and been loved by you. Now you can rest in precious peace. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
