ASAPH BREDIN 1920 - 2006 On January 16, 2006, Asaph Ace passed away, at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Ottilia Tillie (nee Rosner); daughters, Sheila (Allan); Sonya (Barry); grandchildren, Julia, Karl, Kayla, Gillian and Dashiell; sister Leah Zilkie; sister-in-law Olga Bredin, and many nieces and nephews. Asaph was born in Volhynia, Russia and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1928. He grew up in the farming community of Tolstoi, MB. Over the course of his life, Asaph worked in the mining industry at Bisset, as well as logging, housing and road construction, and finally retiring in 1986 from Motorcoach Industries after many years of service. Dad will be remembered for his love of gardening and blueberry picking, and his many camping and hiking trips in Bird's Hill Park and the Whiteshell Provincial Park. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Linden Christian School, 877 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
