Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK (RUDY) PORTH At Deer Lodge Centre, Tuesday, February 7, 2006, Frederick (Rudy) Porth passed away peacefully and with dignity. Rudy was born in Veregin, SK on July 6, 1913 and was predeceased by his beloved wife Doris, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter Dianne Truss (Dennis) of Victoria, BC, his son Lorne (Gina) of Winnipeg and five grandchildren, Dawn Truss and Sheila Lindal (Mark) of Victoria, Laural Porth-Jones (Richard) of Redmond, WA, Gregory Porth (Alexandra) and Brock Porth (Lysa) of Winnipeg. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Ryan Truss of Victoria and Ella Porth of Winnipeg. Rudy was a man of integrity both in his personal life and in his business affairs. Throughout his long life he worked hard, first in the logging industry and later as a very successful building contractor and businessman. Grandpa was a man to whom personal material possessions meant little. The comfort of his family and education of his children and grandchildren were paramount. In part, through his encouragement and generosity, each one attained a university degree(s). Well into his late 80s, Grandpa worked side by side with the boys in the family business instilling in them both his wealth of knowledge and strong work ethic. The girls remember his joy in their careers, ambitions and accomplishments. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Beaver Lodge and a member of Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps. He always valued the friendships made through these associations and was honoured to be a part of their charitable works. We are grateful for the many good times we shared and will remember him working in the solitude of his garden and among his roses. We would like to thank the caregivers of Lodge 6W at Deer Lodge Centre whose kindness and compassion contributed to his quality of life these past few years. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Rest in Peace Dad and Grandpa.
