Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFORTUNATA CALIGIURI (nee CANTAFIO) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Fortunata in Amato, Italy on February 20, 2006. Fortunata was born on April 26, 1910 in Amato and lived a long, healthy and happy life. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Antonio in 1976, her sister Marianna and her brother Domenico from Italy. Fortunata is lovingly remembered by a daughter and a son in Winnipeg, Rachela (Giuseppe Scarpino) and Domenico (Rose Marie). Also two daughters in Amato, Italy, Elena (late Tomasino Lucia) and Eleonora (Giuseppe Molizzi). She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Maria (Tony Romeo), Bernardo (Alyson), Scarpino, Antonio (Darla) Caligiuri and Fortunella Caligiuri in Winnipeg, Costanza (Domenico Scarpino), Fortunata (Antonio Montenegro), Teresa (Josef Martino) and Francesco Molizzi in Italy, and 11 great-grandchildren: Rina (Mico) and Anthony Romeo, Angela and Elena Lucia, Nicola and Francesca Montenegro, Gabriele and Greta Martino, Joseph and Nicholas Scarpino and Caden Caligiuri. Also a sister in Montreal, Angela Fiorentino and numerous nieces and nephews. Fortunata will be remembered and missed by all who had the blessing of being part of her life. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 22, 7:30 p.m., at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating.
