ESTHER DOROTHY HALSALL (nee HEIDE) Born December 17, 1916 Esther went to be with her Lord in Wailuku, Hawaii on Monday, February 27, 2006. She was the loving mother of Janis Mills and her husband Tom of Kihei, and of Ken Halsall and his wife Barbara of Georgetown, ON, the grandmother of Greg, Debbie, Michael and Jennifer, and great-grandmother of Chelene, Janae, Elijah and Emma Joy. Esther is survived by her brother, Harold Heide, of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Stan, and brothers, Nelson, Glens Falls, NY, and Roy, Seattle. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces. Esther and her husband, Stan, moved from Winnipeg to Honolulu in 1966, where Esther worked at and retired from Liberty House Hawaii. She and Stan attended Kawaiaha'o Church and shared their love and musical talents with the many Hawaiian friends they made over the years. Esther was loved by all who knew her. She had a special, caring spirit that will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Esther's life will be held by family and friends at a later time. Special thanks and appreciation are extended to the staff at Hale Makua, Lanai Unit, Wailuku, who were always there, gently caring for her.
