LORRAINE PRANYS Peacefully after a lengthy illness with her family by her side, Lorraine passed away March 4, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted mother Jennie, brother Robert (Marilyn) and nephews, Andrew and Mathew, auntie Emily Pran, uncle Johnny Papas, uncle Ed (Maxine) Papas and cousins, Irene, Gregory and Dean. Predeceased by her father Peter, grandparents and godparents, auntie Louise and uncle Connie. Lorraine was born and educated in Winnipeg. She attended Holy Cross, Glenlawn and University of Manitoba. Her career was underway when she joined Great West Life in 1968. Due to her illness, Lorraine left Great West Life in December of 1999 as Director of Taxation. Lorraine met the challenges of her illness with great strength and fortitude. We will remember her kindness, gentleness and wisdom with great pride, love and admiration. Her love of crafts was a testament of her talents, patience and perfectionism. Her quiet demeanor and gentle smile will forever be cherished. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10 at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 852 St. Mary's Road with Fr. Renato Pasinato presiding. Private interment at Elmwood Cemetery will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined; donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (phone 787-4143) or a charity of your choice.
