MAX POLLICK On February 24, 2006, Max Pollick, 81, passed away peacefully. Max was predeceased by his parents, Lazar and Goldie, his beloved wife, Evelyn, and his dear son Jack. He leaves to mourn and remember him, his son Robert, daughter-in-law Charlotte, and grandson Joshua; his brother David and sister-in-law Fraidla; daughter-in-law Marcia Gorenstein, husband Arieh and children; many nieces and nephews, including great-great niece Jaqui. As a salesman representing Winnipeg clothing manufacturers, Max travelled to small and large centers in Western Canada, making friends wherever he went. He was a member of the North West Commercial Travelers Association for 60 years. For 55 years, Max was a member of the Masonic Order; a past-Master of the Menorah Lodge; and a member of the Khartum Shriners. He was an active volunteer, always happy to help others; he delivered for Meals on Wheels. He loved to participate in the rituals of synagogue life, and enjoyed organizing and leading Minyans. A special thank you to Lifeline, Homecare, and the many special friends who helped care for him. The Masons of the Menorah Lodge were the Honor Guard for the funeral, which was held on February 26 at the Etz Chayim synagogue. Interment was at the Rosh Pina Cemetery followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Etz Chayim Synagogue. Rabbis Weitzman and Balser officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Howard Raber, nephews, Rick Pollick and Martin Stoffman, great-nephews Aaron Pollick and Jayson Stoffman, and cousin Jack Kaplan. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Morris, Joe Wiezenthal and Laurie Mainster. Max will be missed, Rest in Peace.
