NOAH BEAULIEU Peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2006, (Nanabush) Noah Beaulieu passed away just 198 days short of his 100th birthday at his place of residence in Sandy Bay. Dad left us to join his parents, wife, children, sons-in-law, and his grandchildren in God's Home. Noah is survived and cherished by his daughters, Suzanne, Adeline, Irene, Mary Ireland (Dave), and Hazel McKennitt (Bill); daughters-in-law Dena, Eileen, and Hugette; 43 grandchildren, 138 great-grandchildren, 85 great-great-grandchildren, four great-great-great-grandchildren (6th generation). Predeceased by his parents David and Christina, his wife Veronique, his children Christopher, Isaac, Howard, and Madeline; sons-in-law Russell, Magnus, and Leon, all his brothers and sisters, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Noah was passionate about his life and family. Noah was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him. His keenness for living and enthusiasm to engage in all challenges was admired by all of us. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper, and a successful mixed farmer. He was also a security guard for the RCMP for 20 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, boxing and skating. Nanabush, as we all knew him, had a great sense of humour and was a practical jokester. He gave all his grandchildren special nicknames and he remembered all of them to the end of his days. He loved to listen to and dance to fiddle music. He also enjoyed listening to the drum and was an avid traditional dancer. He loved to follow the pow-wow trail. He enjoyed telling stories about his life experiences. He taught his grandchildren to preserve the Aboriginal Culture, Language and to be proud of their heritage. He practiced what was dear to his heart by making traditional outfits and aboriginal crafts such as dreamcatchers, headdresses, necklaces, and numerous other items. The family would like to extend their thanks to Sandy Bay Health Centre, Sandy Bay Home Makers and the community for all of their support. Dad lived a full and happy life. Lovingly remembered and forever missed by your family. A wake will begin on Monday, March 20, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the Amaranth Hall. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sandy Bay First Nation. Interment will follow in the Sandy Bay Cemetery.
