MAURICE JOSEPH PRINCE It is with great sadness that the Prince family announces the passing of Maurice Joseph Prince at St. Boniface Hospital on March 23, 2006. Born 1925 in Neepawa to Joseph and Parmèlisa (née Doucet) Maurice lived most of his life in St Boniface. He is survived by his wife Suzanne (née St Germain); his three children, Maurice (who resides in Cobourg, ON with his wife Yana and three children, Nicolas, Jonathan and Eric), Michele Smith (who lives in Winnipeg with her daughter Nicole) and Jocelyne (who lives in Providence, RI with her husband Christopher Leone). He is also survived by his siblings, Irene Lachance, Paul (Suzanne), Napolèon (Mary), Phillippe (Yvette) and Lucille (Charles) Dufault. Maurice was extremely active within the community. He was a spokesperson for language rights, Canadian unity and the preservation of French Canadian history. He was the director of the St. Boniface Museum for more than a decade. He was also instrumental in the 25 year battle that finally saw the founding and implementation of the Lagimodière Gaboury Historical Park. He was very proud to have situated the Lagimodière homestead, birthplace of Louis Riel. The family would like to thank the 5ABC staff at Taché Nursing Home for their patient and compassionate care. The viewing will take place Sunday, March 26, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at E. J.
