Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENDA ROBERTA JOY BISHOP 1955 - 2006 Glenda Roberta Joy Bishop (nee Konopetski) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2006. Glenda was born in Winnipeg, MB and lived in Fisher Branch until 1963 when her family relocated to Red Lake, ON. She attended Red Lake Public School and graduated from Red Lake District High School in 1973. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Administration degree in 1976, followed by her law degree from Queen's University in 1979. She was called to the bar in 1980 and with her husband, Peter, returned to Red Lake in 1982 to begin their law practice. Together they raised daughters Gillian and Erica and continued their partnership in law until 1994 when Peter was appointed to the Bench of the Ontario Provincial Court. Glenda continued as a sole practitioner and was intensely involved with community issues sitting on numerous Boards, always putting her family first. Together they travelled the world and enlarged their horizons, always returning to serve Red Lake. Glenda is survived by her husband Peter; daughters Gillian and Erica; mother Emily Konopetski; sister Lori Konopetski; brothers-in-law Bill (Rose) Bishop and David (Jo) Bishop; niece Michelle Bishop; and nephew Nicholas Bishop. Glenda was predeceased by her father Frank Konopetski and father and mother-in-law Frank and Janet Bishop. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Red Lake, ON. Glenda will be sadly missed by everyone she touched.
