RUSSELL NICHOL Bravely, on Sunday morning, April 9, 2006, Russell Nichol passed on. Dad's short battle with cancer was a surprise to all who knew him. Russ lives on thorough his children, Angela, David, Kris, Allison; their spouses; and all of his Grandchildren; as well as, his mother; brothers; sisters; nieces and nephews. Russ will be remembered by a wealth of close friends and colleagues. Dad was a decision maker. He understood very clearly the cycle of life and the mortality of the human body. His decision, long ago, was to live each day as if it were his last and to forge strong relationships with his children and grandchildren. Russ possessed incredible wisdom. His lifetime passion for reading and his technical training at UND, combined with his remarkable intuitive abilities allowed him great success in his career as a business consultant. Young entrepreneurs and experienced business people alike respected and admired Dad for his resolve and thoroughness. Dad was open-minded. His strong resonance with Buddhist philosophy, combined with his lifelong research into Nazarene Christianity, helped us to understand his ability to see his passing as an inevitable and necessary part of being human. Above all, Dad was happy. For all of us, he was an incredible example of not letting the small stuff get you down. He was our safe place to land whenever we needed him. Dad was more than our parent. Dad was our best friend. Although, we can no longer expect a return phone call or share in a glass of wine or have a mid summer barbeque in his yard or spend time at the creek, we all know his love for us will endure. Unconditionally. Forever. Thank you, Dad. We would like to invite Dad's family, friends and colleagues to join us in a celebration of his life in The Western Canadian Aviation Museum, 2nd Floor, on Thursday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. Our sincere thanks goes to the medical staff at St. Boniface General Hospital, Cancer Care Manitoba and in particular, Riverview Health Centre for their professionalism and compassion. They have restored our family's trust in our public system. Thank you to, Anne-Mar, Alison, Linda and Jacqueline. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russ' memory may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation tel. (204) 478-6271. WOJCIK'S 897 4665
