MARJORIE ELIZABETH PUZIANOWSKI (nee GUSTAW) October 21, 1941 - March 16, 2006 Peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2006, Mom passed away at St. Boniface Hospital after an 18 year fight with breast cancer. Her mother Elizabeth died when Marge was nine years old so she had to learn to fend for herself at an early age. She was one of four siblings. She was also predeceased by a baby sister Marjorie at birth, a sister Anna and her father Stanley. Marge went to school in Whitemouth where she completed her grade 12. While working at a restaurant, Joe's Esso Station on the Trans Canada Highway by Hadashville, she met her loving husband Albert and was married three years later. They settled on a farm on the Birch River where they farmed and raised their son John. Five years later in 1966 they moved again to make their home in Winnipeg. She had worked for MTS for a couple of years before she met her husband. She also worked for a couple of years as a dental assistant and at Robinson Little for a short time. Some time later she started to work for MTS again as a telephone operator and worked split shifts until later she ended up in Final Accounts, retiring early because of poor health. Marge was a good home maker and also loved to cook. She liked to grow flowers and garden and had a wonderful way with children. She especially enjoyed time spent with her granddaughter Haley, baking with her and making Christmas ornaments. She loved to sing in the church choir and had an operatic voice. She kept her father for many years until his passing in 1989. Marge was a strong person, she didn't take freezings when the dentist worked on her teeth. Though she suffered with her back for many years and later with arthritis and cancer, she always maintained a positive and courageous attitude. She leaves to mourn her husband Albert, son John, brother Joe and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. She will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank everyone who sent flowers, cards and visited. Also thanks to St. Boniface Hospital staff for the kind treatment she received in their care. A memorial service and Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg with Fr. Phil Daly officiating. Reception to follow at church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
