HILDA LOIS QUINN (nee HARRIS) Following a brief illness Auntie Lois passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2006 at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Gordon (Marcia); nieces Joyce (Ed) and Roberta (Bob); nephew Don (Barb); step-daughter Leslee (Mansour) and many great and great-great-grand nieces and nephews. Louis was born in Worcester, MA in 1914 and moved with her family to Regina in 1920. In 1933, they moved to Winnipeg where she met her future husband, Max Drexel. They were married in 1941 and eventually settled in St. Lambert, PQ, where they lived until his untimely death in 1962. Lois returned to Winnipeg where she and her sister could care for their mother who suffered two strokes. For 20 years, Lois served on many committees at Young United Church and was twice President of UCW. She loved to sew and at age 65 decided she wanted to learn to paint with oils. Just before she and her second husband, Elmer Quinn, were to move into Fred Douglas Place, she suffered an aneurism in her neck but miraculously recovered after eight weeks in a coma. When Elmer died in 1990, she was very lonely at times, but had her many friends at Knox United Church and Fred Douglas Place to fill the void. She was a very independent lady, and her unique sense of humour will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Ray Singer and the staff of 3 North, Victoria Hospital, for the excellent care Lois received. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway 783 - 7211
