ERNEST (ERNIE) STEPHEN PROSAK After a courageous battle, Ernie left us on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Lynn; his brothers, Les (Kathy) and Merv (Julie); his sisters, Jeanette (Clayton) Cooper and Marie Goran; his mother-in-law Donna Nygaard; his sisters-in-law, Paula Nygaard and Tannis (Dean) Kunz; his brother-in-law Robert (Lil) Nygaard and nieces and nephews. Ernie was born to Nick and Helen Prosak on January 13, 1947. Although he lived in many locations throughout his childhood, he spent the majority of his adult life in Winnipeg. It was here that he met Lynn, who became his wife on November 14, 1992. Ernie obtained his RIA designation on October 14, 1978 and continued to work as an accountant throughout his career. He participated in many sports but his passion was golf. He would tell his friends that he was looking forward to hitting a few balls and that he would be back on the links soon. Although, Ernie was a man of few words, he was known for his generous spirit and kindness. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. The family would like to thank Dr Ralph Wong, the staff at St. Boniface hospital, his home care nurses, Tony and Marie for their care and compassion. A very special thank you to his dear friends Bob and Alice Kirkland, who were always there for him Prayers will be held on Monday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 460 Munroe (corner of Watt and Munroe) in Winnipeg. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church with Fr. Michael Winn officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Eden Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends wish donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you And whispered Come to Me. You didn't deserve what you went through, So God gave you rest. His garden must be beautiful, For He only picks the best. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
