Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWLADYSLAW (WALTER) REDA May 19, 1911 May 17, 2006 On May 17, 2006, Walter, much beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital surrounded by his family. Left to cherish his memory is son John (Margaret); grandsons, Andrew, John and Steven; sister Zosia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Ksawera in 1987. Walter was born on a farm in Stawek, Poland. He survived internment in Siberia after forced deportation along with over a million other Poles. He joined the Polish Army in 1942 and served in the Battle of Monte Cassino. He came to Canada after the war and worked as a farm labourer, a lumberjack and a pipe fitter. He was a hard worker and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed a long and happy retirement living with his son, daughter-in-law and grandsons. Thank you to all the staff at Seven Oaks Emergency, Surgical and ICU wards for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Rabson for many years of kind and excellent care. Thanks also to his home care workers and Dr. Teresa Millar. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father as celebrant.
