JANICE (JAN) RALEIGH (PITBLADO)
Date of Passing: May 18, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANICE (JAN) RALEIGH (nee PITBLADO) After a truly valiant 5½ week battle against a number of life threatening illnesses, our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away early in the morning of May 18, 2006, with her loving husband close at hand. She leaves to mourn her husband, of 48½ years Don; two children, Jack (Joan) with three grandchildren, James, William and Julia, and daughter Susan (Mark) with grandsons, Luke and Aiden. She is also survived by her brother Jim Pitblado (Sandra) along with nieces and nephews, Wendy, James, Dianne and John and their families. Also, Jan and Don had adoptive godchildren Eldie and Domingo Artates with their children, Dexter and Diana. She was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Ed Pitblado and a nephew David Pitblado. At Jan's request, there will be no formal services but rather a celebration of her life which will be held later at her beloved cottage-home at Sandy Hook. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred there. Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Victoria General Hospital for their dedication in attempting to help Jan back to health. Jan was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed interior decorating. She also attended the U of M in the field of music. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her happy greeting and warm smile. No flowers please. If you wish to remember Jan you might consider a donation to the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba, B-247 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg MB R2H 0G6. Ah, when will sun arise on such another?
