MARY TIMCHUK After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Mary Timchuk (nee Dawydiuk) passed away on July 14, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 79. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Michael in January of 2006; her brothers, John, Pete, Bill, George; and sisters, Doris and Sonia. Mary was a dedicated mother to her four children, Lorne (Laurie) of Winnipeg, MB, Charlotte (Ron) of Lakewood, CA, Ray (Karen) of Calgary, AB and Bruce (Joan), Webb City, MO; grandchildren, Lee, Lacey, Troy, Michael, Jessica (Robert) and Jason; great-grandchildren Tyler and Savanna; sisters, Elsie (George), Olga (Frank); brothers, Nick (Cecile) and Gene (Cookie). She also leaves to mourn her many nephews and nieces, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mary and Michael married on October 21, 1944 and began a farming career in Ridgeville, MB, where they raised their four children. They moved to Winnipeg in June of 1997. Mary loved crocheting, traveling, politics and coffee with her many friends. Mary's family would like to express sincere appreciation to both Dr. Olweny and his assistant, Bonnie Johnson for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank her dear friend, Maryon for countless hours of care and compassion during her time of need. A celebration of Mary's life will take place on Friday, July 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Steinbach Funeral Home, 5 Chrysler Gate with Pastor Roy Byman officiating. Reception will be held immediately after the service. Burial will take place at the Tolstoi Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
