DOROTHY THOM December 27, 1920 - July 24, 2006 It is with profound sadness that we lay to rest our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, sister and friend. Just one year following the loss of her husband Roy, Dorothy left us to join him for eternity. The true matriarch of the family, we all gathered together year after year to enjoy her holiday meals and reminisce about stories of the past. In later years her signature dishes were still a part of every family occasion she attended. Sharing recipes and laughter, and enjoying the food as much as the company will always be her legacy. Dorothy loved animals, sports, her rose garden and her home; but none could surpass her love for her family. She made us each feel special in her own way - her caring tone, pet names, home remedies that only worked because of her convictions, and her constant unwavering love. Amongst the many hearts aching from the loss of this beautiful woman, are her four girls, Judy, Dee, Sherri and Nicki. As we surrounded her to say goodbye, we could not; instead, we love you for always. The family would like to thank the many special people in Dorothy's life for their caring and support over the years. Her loving sister Gwen and family; her brother-in-law Harold; her nephew Doug and wife Marg; her wonderful neighbours Bev and Clarence Abrams; her friends Lil Matchem and Em Powell; and our heartfelt thanks to Kim and dog, Mo who brightened her days with their visits. Thank you to all those at Concordia Hospital, Dr. Soloman and nurses in ICU and 2nd Floor West Wing. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Dorothy's wish was not to have a funeral. Just one last ride home to Regina with daughter Judy. Her ashes will be placed between her parents and husband at Regina Memorial Garden. Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in care of arrangements, 885-9715.
