LENORA RATTAI September 24, 1911- August 11,2006 On Friday, August 11,2 006 Lenora Rattai passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband Edward, son Raymond, two grandsons Gregory and Robert Mitchell, her parents August and Paulina Freund, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her children; Alice (Richard), Myrtle (Fred), Sandra, Ronald (Pat), 18 Grandchildren and 23 Great- grandchildren. Lenora was born and lived in the Green Bay Area until 1990 when Edward and she retired in Beausejour. Lenora's interests and talents were many and varied. She excelled in needlecrafts- embroidery, crotcheting, knitting, etc.; taught the 4 H girls sewing in the 40's and 50's. She was an avid reader, gardener and loved playing games especially scrabble. She had a world wide stamp collection that would be the envy of any collector. Lenora was active in the community- played the organ at Green Bay Lutheran Church from the 30's to the 60's; sang in the church choir; was Green Bay School secretary during the 40's and 50's and was area enumerator during election years. She had a great love for family, friends, animals and the outdoors. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of EastGate Lodge for the compassionate care Lenora received during the past three years. Friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 14, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russell Funeral Home in Beausejour, MB. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Bay Lutheran Church. Viewing will be held 1/2 hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Beausejour, MB. If friends so desire memorial donations in Lenora's memory may be made to Eastgate Lodge, Canadian Diabetes Association or and Charity of one's choice.
