Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN JOSEPH PUDLO It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steve Pudlo announces his passing on August 20, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Elma of 35 years; daughter Janice (Richard) Perchotte; son David (Karen) Pudlo; grandchildren, Hailey and Harlan Perchotte; brothers, Mike (Elizabeth) Pudlo, John (Mary) Pudlo, Dennis (Annette) Pudlo; sister Mary Swinarchin as well as his in-laws Njall and Stina Gislason, Alfred (Joy) Gislason, Birdeen (Lawrence) Stansell, Miles (Donna) Gislason and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Frank Pudlo, his mother Kathleen Pudlo, and brother-in-law Peter Swinarchin. He was born in Gimli, MB on May 26, 1949 and grew up in Finns, MB. In December 1970 he married Elma and settled on the family farm. Steve was a devoted husband and father who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was well-respected by his family, friends and colleagues. Gigi's grandchildren were his pride and joy. He looked forward to every visit and every adventure they experienced together. Gig will always be their hero. Steve loved his job at Evergreen School Division. He enjoyed driving the school bus and working in the bus garage. He enjoyed the camaraderie with his co-workers and appreciated their support and understanding during his illness. Steve always gave so freely of himself, never expecting anything in return. He had a strong work ethic and did not like to miss a day of work, even during his illness. He was a natural at everything he tried, especially golfing which was his favourite. He had a gentle nature, subtle sense of humour and beautiful personality. Nothing gave him greater joy than being at home with his family around. Steve showed amazing strength and courage during his battle with cancer, never complaining and always remaining positive. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Arborg with Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Steve's memory to North East Palliative Care - Gimli Hospital, Box 250, Gimli, MB, R0C 1B0. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
