JOHN JOSEPH POLSON After a short, courageous battle with cancer, John has left us to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 50 years on Monday, September 11, 2006, at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish John's memory are his wife Jan; his only daughter Daphne Buss (Shawn); he was also a proud grandpa to his granddaughter Hope; Jan's sons, Brad and Ryan; brothers and sisters, Steve (Suzanne), Mike (Marlene), Paul (Barb), Margaret, Monica, and Madeline (David); also numerous nieces, nephews and relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Lorne (1992) and Florence (1998); and his sister Mary(1998). John spent the last 15 years of his long career in aviation sales with Aviall and his work drew the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him. For those who wish, public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories, in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m., in the Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. at Rouge Road, by dear family friend Rev. Fr. Vince Herner, presiding. John's family would like to thank Dr. Daeninck and the palliative care staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional kindness and care. Also a special thanks to family, friends and co-workers for all the support through John and Jan's difficult journey over the past few months. Dad had a immense love for family, friends and his Saviour, so in his memory read Col 3:12-17 of the Bible and love one another, forgive one another, no one's perfect but we can strive for it! In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. John's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665

I did not know of John's passing until just now while I was trying to look up something about his father Lorne on the internet. John and I were good friends in the early years of our lives on Fleet Street again when John's family moved to Dorchester Ave. I moved to Vancouver Island in 1986. The last time I recall talking to John on the phone must have been not too long before he passed away, although I had no idea he had cancer. 50 is far too young to be taken away. My condolences to everyone. I often think about the Polson family. John and Steve influenced me to start playing guitar, which I still do to this day. - Richard Konopasek - Posted by: Richard Konopasek (Friend) on: Jan 03, 2022
