MAURICE A. DE TIMMERMAN Died accidentally on Monday, September 25, near La Riviere, MB. Maurice was born July 18, 1929 to parents, Madeline and Joseph at the family farm in Holland, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, his two younger brothers, George and Ceriel, and by his wife Jeanetta. He will be sadly missed by his sister Julie and her husband Noel Later, his nieces, Wendy, Bonnie, Lynn, Shauna, Alisa, Cindy, Lisa, Bernice, and his nephew Ray, and all of their families. Maurice farmed with his father for many years in Holland, MB, then independently at Alexander, MB prior to his marriage to Jeanetta in Brandon in 1965. They moved to Powell River, BC, where he was employed by MacMillan Bloedel. He worked in the Sawmill, then the old G1 and G2 Gridiron Room, worked in the Yard Crew and in 1973, Maurice transferred to the Laggers; in 1990 he became Lead Hand. Maurice retired in 1992 after 27 years with the company. Following his retirement, Maurice lived in Dawson Creek and Cranbrook, BC before returning to Manitoba in 1996 to reside near his sister at Holiday Mountain, where he became Uncle Maurice to one and all. He also had a residence in Fosston, SK where he leaves many friends. Uncle Maurice was an outdoorsman who's greatest pleasure was sharing his love of hunting and fishing with his many friends. The times he spent in the Sand Hills were precious to him. He was awarded the lifetime achievement award by the North American Hunting Club in December 1995. Maurice also loved to garden, and had large amounts of produce to share with family and friends in both La Riviere and Fosston. Uncle Maurice was gentle and kind-hearted. He gave of himself in every possible way to anyone in need. He enjoyed the company of young people, and large gatherings of friends and family and having met someone, had the ability to remember and recognize them forever after. A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at Holiday Mountain Day Lodge in La Riviere, MB on Friday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. A private family graveside interment will be held at a later date. Friends, if they desire, may donate in his memory to the La Riviere Volunteer Fire Department or to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, 70 Stevenson Road, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0W7. Graham's Funeral Service of Pilot Mound in care of the arrangements
