ANNIE MATILDA (VIOLET) BEATTIE (nee TREW) Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Violet, born on October 13, 1905, in Toronto, ON, passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on October 15, 2006. She was the only child of Annie and John Trew and was predeceased by her husband Walter Beattie in 1967, grandson Kenneth in 1992 and daughter-in-law Sandra in 2000. She moved to Fort Garry at the age of two and lived there and in the Fort Rouge district of Winnipeg for the rest of her life. Violet is survived by three sons, Shaun (Marie), Lorne (Polly) and Aubrey; grandchildren, Kimberley, Kelly, Angela, Cheryl, Michael, Scott and Callum; great-grandchildren, Christian, Luke, Cody and Reid; and cousins, Betty Carlile, Robert Sangster, Eileen Warnick and Thelma Donnet. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the management and staff at the Riverview Health Centre, Unit D-2, for the kind and compassionate care of our mother over the past six years. A funeral service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with interment following at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Annie may be made to a charity of your choice. She lived her life for those she loved, and those she loved will always remember.
