Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFREDA BEAUDIN (née Lachance) It is with deep sadness that we announce that Alfreda Beaudin peacefully went to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, October 20, 2006. She was predeceased by a newborn son (Joseph - 1941); her parents (Henri - 1984, Albina -1954); two sisters (Gertrude Henriette - 1923, Marie Berthe - 1929); two brothers (Albert - 1970, Edouard - 1995); one sister-in-law (Laura Lachance (née Beaudin) - 2006) as well as her son-in-law Guy Guilleminot in 2002 (Gilberte). She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Roland and her daughter Gilberte (Guy) Guilleminot and her four sons Robert (Julie Charrière), Yves (Judith Simard), Louis (Germaine Landry) and Alfred (Sharon Clark, Lesley Zipp). Alfreda was born on January 21, 1920 in St. Eustache, Manitoba. At 17, she married Roland Beaudin who has been by her side for the last 69 years. They moved from St. Eustache to St. Boniface in 1950 and then to Transcona 10 years later. They sold their house in 1985 and after a few short stays in various places over the next six years, they spent the last 15 years at Lions Place in Winnipeg. Other then being a terrific wife and excellent mother, Freda worked for many years as a seamstress in the garment industry. She was also involved in the French Scout Movement in Transcona and many young boys and girls are grateful to Alfreda and her beloved husband Roland for the memorable times they had on camp outings and various trips. She was also instrumental in raising funds, through the Western Lottery Corporation, to both purchase a 50-acre property in St. Malo, Manitoba and build two cottages for the use by the scouts movement. After they moved to Lions Place, she felt that it was her duty to start and maintain, with Roland, an evening coffee and hot chocolate club to help the seniors overcome their loneliness during the evening hours. It was welcomed and enjoyed for four years. She was always willing to help anyone in need. A funeral mass, celebrated by Fr. Léonce Aubin, will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at la Cathédrale de St-Boniface, 190 avenue de la Cathédrale, St-Boniface, Man. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. We thank the Health Sciences Centre's physicians, nurses, aides and all other health care staff involved in her care during her short stay with them. It was appreciated by all. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 would be greatly appreciated. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy.
