NICOLA RACCIATTI It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Nicola Racciatti (Nick) at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, November 25, 2006. Dad will be so sadly missed by son John (Dara); grandchildren Catherine and John Jr. of Fairhope, Alabama; daughter Vanda (Robert); grandchildren Silvia, Mariella and Madeleina of Winnipeg; daughter Marilena (Mike); grandchildren Lauren, Jack and a child expected in early December of Toronto. He was predeceased by his wife Silvia in 1988 and is finally reunited with her. Dad was born in Guilmi (CH) Italy on February 1, 1933. He came to Canada in 1957 with his cousin and very close friend Giovanni Racciatti to work for the railroads until his retirement in 1995. He worked to bring his younger brother Armando over to Canada in early 60s. Throughout his life, he loved watching sports hockey in particular. He spent many Saturday nights watching hockey with us. Dad spent the last 5 years at the Riverview Health Center where he made many friends. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he looked forward to their visits. The family wishes to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff Dr. Siddiqui the ICU Nursing team, the nurses on 5E and Timothy and Fr. Roland from Spiritual Care. At the Riverview, we wish to thank Dr. Sultana, nurse Krystel and a very special thank you to nurse Mona for caring for dad over the years. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday, November 29 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Pallbearers are: Chris Barley, Robert Racciatti, Gianluca Racciatti, Enrico Racciatti, Jason Calculli and Joe Lizzi. Flowers are so gratefully declined.
