Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY COOK March 5, 1922 - November 25, 2006 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. After a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer, Harry passed away at the age of 84 years, on November 25, 2006, at the Grace Hospital. Harry shall be greatly missed by his wife Carrie of 56 years; sons, Harry of Winnipeg, Colin of Airdrie, Alberta, and Darren of Edmonton, Alberta; granddaughter Vanessa and her mother Susan Cook; grandson Colin and his mother Cheryl McKenzie. Harry was predeceased by his grandson Kihiw in 2002; parents Beatrice and Colin; sisters, Mabel, Maud and Vera; brother William. Harry was born at Peguis First Nation, Manitoba, and at the age of 20, enlisted for the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1943. After training in England, he served in Normandy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. After returning to Canada he was employed by the Department of National Defence for 32 and one-half years, as a maintenance engineer. Harry was a member of the No. 1 Legion for 64 years and a member of A.N.A.F. No. 1 for 49 years. He enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes, cribbage, shuffleboard, and also sharing his sense of humour with friends. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of the Grace Hospital's Palliative Care Department for their kindness and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Peguis, Manitoba, with Rev. Barry Bear and Rev. Wesley Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Peguis, Manitoba. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at the A.N.A.F.
