ROSE INGIBJORG BURDYNY Peacefully, at the age of 76, on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Riverview Health Centre, Rose Ingibjorg Burdyny passed away. Rose was predeceased by her husband Steve, her parents and all of her siblings. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her children and grandchildren, Jim and wife Patricia, and their children, Michael, James and Alex; Judy and husband Bryan and their son Sean; and Debbie and her son Clint. Rose was born Ingibjorg Rose Thorsteinson on November 21, 1930. After their marriage in 1953, Rose and Steve settled in Fort Garry where they raised their family. Rose was active in many volunteer and service organizations over the years, including the Royal Canadian Legion Fort Garry Branch #90, the Manitoba Society of Seniors and the Delmar Senior Tenants Association. Rose's family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to her visiting palliative nurses, the WRHA home care workers and the staff at 3 East Riverview Health Centre for their kindness, compassion and care. Thanks are also extended to family and friends who have been there for us during the past eight months, visiting Mom, chauffeuring her, dropping off goodies or simply expressing their kind words and prayers. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Bennett, Brian Cutts, Joan Hardwick, Terry Moore, Marlene Rose and Cliff Tessier. Interment will follow at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Rose's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
