Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND POITRAS Peacefully, surrounded by his family Raymond Poitras passed away at Riverview Health Centre on December 16, 2006. Ray was born February 12, 1945. He was raised in St. Boniface where he met his childhood sweetheart Judy to whom he married on October 7, 1967. Raymond enjoyed 40 successful years in the Steel and Galvanizing business and gained many life long friends. He was known for his honesty in life and in business and never hesitated to say it like it was . Ray loved spending his time at his cottage in Grindstone where he shared many great times and adventures with his family and many friends. His hobbies included fishing, snowmobiling, boating, RV'ing and golfing. This past fall after many years of hard work, Ray fulfilled his lifelong wish of buying himself his dream car. Raymond's greatest joy in life was spending time with his cherished grandchildren and most recently with his cat Sir Elton who provided countless hours of comfort and joy. Raymond will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy, daughter Christine, son in-law Brad, son Marc, daughter in-law Coreen, grandchildren Mathew, Ryan and Alyssa. Parents George and Julie, sisters Janine (Ed), Georgette (Frans), Francine (Ralph), brothers Jean-Paul (Emile), David, sister-in-law Diane (Gerald), a very special father and mother-in-law Walter and Anne Gouglas and many nieces and nephews. Judy would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to the many special friends at Grindstone who gave their time during the past two years in helping Ray finish his dreams of completing his bungalow in the woods. Ray's kindness and generosity were felt by many people and he will be greatly missed by all, he is a very special person. Dad and Grandpa we miss you every minute of every day, we love you. In honoring Ray's wishes, a celebration of Raymond's life will be held at Larters at St. Andrews Golf Country Club, 30 River Road in St. Andrews, Wednesday, December 20 at 2:00 pm.
