HERTHA ADELE TRIMINGHAM (nee HEINSOHN) On November 22, 2006, after a courageous struggle with cancer, Hertha passed away at Bayview Hospital, Barbados, at age 80. She was predeceased by her parents J. Dietrich and Augusta Heinsohn, brothers Ewald and Werner, sisters Elizabeth Heinsohn and Ida Schweitzer and niece Cheryl Schweitzer. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband of 37 years, Malby; her sisters Ruth Busch and Eleanora Yeske of Langenburg; Helene (Jim) Lawton and Charlotte (Ernie) Stech of Winnipeg; as well as seven nieces, five nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she adored. Hertha was born in , SK on November 6, 1926. In 1945, she moved to Winnipeg to pursue a nursing career. She graduated from the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, and worked in several different hospitals both in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. In the 1960s, on a trip to the Caribbean, she met her future husband, Malby, whom she married in Winnipeg in 1969. Her last position before leaving Canada to live in Barbados was Supervisor, C.S.R. at the Misericordia Hospital. Several years after her marriage to Malby, she took a nursing position at Dr. Yvonne Rotchell's Medical Clinic in Barbados. Hertha served in the Royal Canadian Air Force 17 (Auxiliary) Wing Medical Unit in Winnipeg for several years. She was always active and energetic, with a broad range of interests that included curling, bowling, sewing, knitting and other crafts. Funeral services were held November 29, 2006 at Hawthorn Memorial Church in Barbados, Rev. Barbara Lake officiating. According to Hertha's wishes, cremation has taken place. Her remains will return to Canada to be interred at a later date in the family plot in Langenburg. Hertha was a generous, kind, loving woman, always there for the people she loved. She was particularly close to Pamela Reece, who was like a daughter to her, and to Pam's husband and children in Barbados. The many friends and family she leaves behind in Barbados, Canada and the U.S. will forever cherish her memory. Hertha, you will always be close in our hearts.
