STELLA MARGUERITE BOYER (nee CHARTRAND) On Friday, December 29, 2006, after a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully. Stella was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 plus years, Etienne Boyer; her two children, Etienne Jr. and Patricia Johnston; grandson Michael Boyer; great-granddaughter Vanessa Allard; son-in-law Donat Coutu; by her parents, Leon and Eva Chartrand; brothers, Wilfred, Clement and Denis; sister-in-law Florence and brother-in-law Paul. Mourning her loss are her children, Shirley (Edgar) Bruce, Sylvia Boyer, Darlene (Edward) Woytowich, Marcel Boyer, Denise (Jerry) Coutu, Jean-Denis (Cathy) Boyer, Ken Boyer, Beverley-Ann (Alain) Jolicoeur; as well as 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sisters, Celia, Mabel, Edith (Don), Diane (Ken); brothers, Robert (Pauline), Harvey (Isabelle), Johnny (Denise), Ron (Paulette); sisters-in-law, Therese, Jeanette, Josephine, Nora and their families. Born on October 25, 1925 from humble beginnings in St. Laurent, MB, Stella devoted a lifetime to being a loving housewife, mother and (great) grandmother, building her legacy on strong French Canadian / Metis family values and traditions outlined in strong religious beliefs. Although she resided in Winnipeg, she always called St. Laurent home. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her family especially at Easter, summer picnics, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. No one was ever forgotten in her nightly prayers. Special thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and to all who sent best wishes. Funeral services will be held at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church in St. Laurent, MB on Thursday, January 4. Prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Daryll Allard, Edgar Bruce Jr., Shane Jolicoeur, Mathieu Ritchot and nephews, Clarence Chartrand and Duane Kolody. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
