Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE THERESA THOMAS (nee BALL) June 20, 1925 - January 5, 2007 In Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 5, 2007, Bernice Thomas (nee Ball) passed away. She is survived by her husband Maurice (married 37 years); four children, Janet, Joan (Steve), Jacqueline and Kenneth (Joyce). She leaves behind three grandchildren, Jacqueline (Patrick), Jennifer and John; as well as two great-grandchildren, Emma and Theodore. Predeceased by brothers, Donald and Joseph and survived by sisters, Thelma and Dorothy and brothers, Franklin (Rebecca) and Melvin and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was born in Fort Frances, Ontario and grew up on her family farm with her parents, Anna and Franklin Ball and her brothers and sisters. As well as raising her four children, Bernice served her community as a Brownie leader and worked at the University of Manitoba daycare where she was affectionately known by the children as Mrs. T. Those who knew Bernice will remember her as a generous woman who enjoyed the company of family and friends. She was a loving and dedicated grandmother. She loved spending time at the cottage with those close to her, enjoying nature, visiting and playing cards, and most of all, seeing her family enjoying themselves. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
