CARLO D'ANGIOLO May 31, 1924 January 20, 2007 Peacefully on January 20, 2007, Carlo D'Angiolo, aged 82 passed away at The Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Carlo D'Angiolo was born May 31, 1924 in Azzano, Lucca, Italy. In his teen years Carlo worked in the marble quarries where he then went on to serve his country proudly during the Second World War. At the end of the war he went to Belgium where he worked in the granite quarries and coal mines with other Italians. He left Belgium and immigrated to Canada in August, 1954. He met and married Blandine Encontre in 1956 in St. Lupicen, Manitoba. During his life in Winnipeg, Carlo worked many construction jobs with his last employer being Quest Metal Products. After Twenty years of service he retired in 1988. Carlo enjoyed the outdoors where he could be found working around the house tending to his yard and garden. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed bird hunting and fishing in his early years. He was a devoted husband who had great pride in his family. Carlo leaves behind his wife Blandine, his three sons Vincent, Victor and Romeo, brothers Aladino (Leda) in Belgium, sister-in-law Nella in Italy, sister Adelina (Bruno) Avenante in Italy, numerous sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother Angelo and parents Vincenzo and Aurora D'Angiolo Special thanks goes to Gianni and Roger Favaro and family for their support during these trying times as well as to the staff of The Charleswood Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations make in Carlo's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. Funeral services are at Blessed John XXIII Parish, 3390 Portage Ave. Winnipeg, MB Wednesday January 24, 2007, 2:00 p.m., viewing one half hour before service.
