LONNY RATTAI (nee RAUSCH) Peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2007, Lonny, aged 87 years, went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was born January 29, 1920 in Alt Nassau, Russia. She immigrated with her family to Canada in 1929 and grew up in the Grandview area. Married Fred, the love of her life in 1938, farmed in Fraserwood and moved to Winnipeg in 1952. She worked as a seamstress and retired in 1980. Lonny was known for her unconditional hospitality. Countless happy hours were spent around her well laden dinner table. Mom was a very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross. Her faith in the Lord meant everything to her. She was an energetic, hardworking, fun loving, generous woman who loved to laugh and had a joke for all. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed. She leaves to mourn her children, Marge (Glen), Marlene (Nick), Dodie (Bob); grandchildren, Cheryl (Kevin), Brenda (Colin), Lori (Karl), Nathan (Christy), Julie (Sean), and Mike; great-grandchildren, Jared, Makena, Leanne, Amanda, Alyssa; sisters-in-law, Kay, Martha, Kay of Edmonton. Predeceased by her husband Fred (1995); siblings, Bertha, Lily, Erna, Harry and Bruno. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Calvary Place for their patience and loving care. Thanks Jill for your love and dedication. Funeral service to celebrate Lonny's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2007 (viewing at 10:30 a.m.) at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 1Z5. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lutheran Church of the Cross or The Canadian Bible Society, 932 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3R5.
