• Lorne Thomas was/is my grandpa. We all used to call him "pop", my grandpa died when I was 7 years old, it was a tragic hard time for me and my family. It's been nearly 11 years now since my pop has died. It seems like it was just yesterday I was sitting in his knee in his big ol' green rocking chair. We used to sit there and we would share the fresh apple pie he would make. That's what he called me, his "pie". I miss him very much, all those nights crying myself to sleep, even in the middle of the day, I would think of him and not being able to hear his voice or feel his touch and I would just cry. I know my pop is with the Lord, because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. My pop used to play the guitar, and I'd used to listen to him play, and boy was it just really good music to my ears. In the past year or so, I've taken up the playing the guitar & I love it! It soothes my soul! When I play guitar I always think of you pop, I can't wait to be able to play with you when I pass through those gates to heaven. That the first thing I'm going to do when I see you grandpa. I really hope you are proud of me. Life has already knocked me down since you've been gone. But by staying in faith, I can get back up. 1. I will not fear 2. I will stand firm in the presence of God and 3. I will watch for the hand of God. I love you so much pop and I miss you with all my soul.
