MARY ELIZABETH THOMAS Born, October 17, 1912, passed away at the Selkirk Bethel Home on April 24, 2007 at the age of 94 and one half years. Mary resided in Hodgson, MB her entire life. She worked for many years at a restaurant and then the grocery store for Harry Hershfield. Mary was a life member of the Hodgson Legion #158 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the St. Phillips Anglican Church. She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Jean Ford of Woodlands; and two sons, Herb of Fredericton, NB and James of Hodgson, MB; four grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, William (1984); three brothers, William (1984), Walter (1997) and a brother at infancy, Edward; her father, Edward; three uncles, Rod, Reginald and Robert, Olsons. In her earlier years she was an avid curler and also liked to dance, her favorite was the Red River jig and broom dance. Mary was known for her canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB. Many thanks to the staff of Selkirk Bethel Home, for their care and kindness. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Hodgson, MB.
