ELSIE RATHGEBER (RANGNO) Elsie Rathgeber (Rangno), loving mother to daughter Arlene (Clenard) and son Don, passed away at West Park Manor in Winnipeg on Thursday, April 26, 2007 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was 92 years old. Elsie was a loving wife to Edward for 68 years who predeceased her in 2004. Her daughter-in-law Leslie, grandchildren Alan and David, sister-in-law Mat Gauer and numerous nieces and nephews further survive Emma. Born in Winnipeg, it was her permanent home where she raised her family with steadfast love, attention and support. Elsie enjoyed many activities including gardening, golf, bowling, charity work and especially cooking, and she and Ed spent many summers at their Sandy Hook cottage where they entertained family and friends. Winter and Christmas holidays in California and Las Vegas, and cruise travels with Arlene were also wonderful times, as were many hours spent on the golf course with Ed and Don. Improving her putting was a major hobby. Elsie had a great optimism and zest for life, and even learned to snorkel in Hawaii at 82 Years! She always had a cheerful disposition, a generous heart and a courageous outlook no matter what, to her the sun was always shining and tomorrow was a new day. Despite her physical disability over the last years, she never complained and always had a smile and a thank you for everyone. She will be greatly missed. Good night sweet angel. Sincere thanks is extended to the staff of West Park Manor who cared so well for Emma and contributed greatly to making her final years as comfortable as possible.
