JANIS LYNN POROSKY It is with great sadness the family of Janis dearly loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin announce her peaceful passing with family by her side at the Victoria General hospital on May 19, 2007. Janis was born on September 22, 1975 at the North York General Hospital in Toronto. Janis was predeceased by her grandmother Lillie Sadowski and her grandfather William Porosky. Left to mourn her loss are her parents, Fran and Alex, her brother Neil, grandmother Anne Porosky, grandfather Mac Sadowski. Many aunts, uncles and cousins will miss her at family gatherings. Janis was born with many challenges that shaped the journey of her life. She resided at home with her parents for many years, then moved on to Community Residences, first with New Directions and then St. Amant. She enjoyed an active life at school in the CAP program at Arthur A. Leach and Vincent Massey schools in Fort Garry. Once she became an adult she attended the day program provided by Comspan. When she was no longer able to live in a community residence, Janis moved to St. Amant Center to be looked after by caring, dedicated staff. Janis' mom, dad and brother would like to thank all of her Doctors and Caregivers who have looked after her and enriched her life. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Amant Center, 440 River Rd., with Ursula Remillard officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
