GILDA CORREIA 1932 - 2007 Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Gilda Correia passed away on June 13, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joao Raposo, her parents José and Isabel, and two sisters. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her daughter Delfina (Norbert) Sousa, her daughter Anabela (Lino) Silva; four grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Meagan; one sister Conceiçao Aguiar and family in Açores; her beloved nieces and nephew which she raised from infancy, Conceiçao, Filomena, and José and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Seven Oaks Renal Department and the St. Boniface Intensive Care Unit for all their care and support. Prayers will be held on Friday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with The Rev. Fr. José Eduardo Medeiros, V.F. officiating. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gilda's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
