NIKOLAI RADCHENKO Suddenly, on Saturday, June 9, 2007, Nikolai Radchenko, beloved husband of Mariya and father of Inna (Harry) Loewen, and adored grandfather of Juliana and Dominique passed away at the Victoria Hospital. Nikolai was born on April 19, 1939 in Kazakhstan. He spent most of his working life at the Antonov Aviation Bureau, retiring in St. Petersburg, Russia. His pride and joy were his grandchildren. At the time Juliana was born Nikolai was recovering from serious surgery. He often said that Juliana helped him to live through the difficult time. In 1997 he and his wife followed their family to Winnipeg. When Dominique was born the two became inseparable companions on his scooter, watching airplanes overhead or sitting by the river near home. He was a well-known figure in the neighbourhood on his scooters, having run three of them into the ground. His wit and cheery sense of humour will always be remembered. Prayers were held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral service will also be held at the chapel at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 15.
